OUR ACCOUNTING PROCESS
Objective: Understand your business, financial situation, and specific accounting needs.
Activities: Discuss challenges, goals, and expectations during consultation.
Objective: Recap the initial consultation to ensure mutual understanding, agreement on fit and provide service level packages.
Activities: We will provide a summary of the key points discussed during the initial consultation, including your business situation, financial needs, and goals. We will also provide information on service level packages, as well as the following:
• Onboarding
• Cleanup/Catchup
• Monthly Accounting
• Client completion of Best-fit Assessment
• Best-fit Assessment results report
• Finalize Service Package Selection, if applicable
Objective: Formalize the agreement and scope of services to be provided.
Activities:
• Periodically review the scope of services with the client.
• Adjust and update the service package and engagement letter as necessary.
• Our firm will draft and send an engagement letter detailing services, responsibilities, fees, and terms.
• Obtain signed engagement letter from you(the client).
• Provide signed copy of fully executed engagement letter.
Objective: Secure commitment and cover initial setup efforts.
Activities:
• CSWAS will invoice and collect the onboarding fee
• CSWA will confirm payment receipt and provide payment acknowledgment
Objective: Set up the client in our systems and gather necessary information.
Activities:
• Register on Online Secure Portal – Provide instructions and credentials for accessing the client portal.
• Upload Documents – Request necessary financial documents (prior tax returns, bank statements, etc.).
• Schedule Initial Strategy Meetings – Arrange the first of the four strategy meetings to outline objectives, timelines, and communication preferences.
Objective: Ensure your accounting software is setup correctly and ensure accounts are accurate and up-to-date.
Activities:
• Review & adjust settings in Accounting Software.
• Review & adjust Chart of Accounts.
• Review historical financial data and perform necessary adjustments.
• Categorize outstanding transactions.
• Reconcile bank accounts and correct any discrepancies.
• Arrange Strategy Meetings.
Objective: Provide ongoing accounting support and maintain financial records.
Activities:
• Regular Bookkeeping – Record transactions, process payroll, and manage accounts payable/receivable.
• Monthly Financial Reporting – Prepare and deliver financial statements (balance sheet, profit and loss, cash flow statement).
• Ongoing Strategy Meetings – Conduct regular meetings to review financial performance, adjust strategies, and plan for tax obligations.
